How to Draw Lines, Outlines and Brush Strokes

Drawing lines, outlines, and brush strokes
CorelDRAW allows you to add lines and brush strokes by using a variety of tools and techniques, you can draw lines or apply brush strokes to those lines that you draw. you can also format them to suit you want as well as formatting the outlines that bound the objects. You can also apply a spray objects along a line. Flow and dimensional lines can also be created in drawings. Lines are created by using shape recognition.

How to Drawing lines
A path between two point is known as a line. it has multiple segments, either curved or straight. The segments are connected by nodes, which are depicted as small squares. You can use various drawing tools to construct or draw curved and straight lines, and lines containing both curved and straight segments.

Freehand and Polyline tools
The Freehand and Polyline allows you to draw freehand lines as if you were sketching on a pad. If you make a mistake while drawing, you can erase the unwanted part immediately and continue drawing. When drawing straight lines or segments, you can constrain them to straight vertical or horizontal lines. You can control the smoothness of the curved line you are drawing as well as adding segments to an existing line. However, the polyline tool is easier to use for quicker drawing complex line which consists of alternating curved and straight segments.

How to Draw lines with Freehand Tool/Polyline tools
Drag the mouse like a pencil on paper.

To erase as you draw, hold down Shift, and drag backwards.

To draw a straight line, click where you want the line to begin, and then click where you want it to end.

To set options, double-click the Freehand tool.

To change a line or curve’s shape, click the Shape tool .

How to Draw Line with a Polyline Tool
To draw a straight segment, click where you want to start the line segment, and then click where you want to end it. You can hold down the shift key or ctrl key to get it perfectly.

To draw a curved segment, click where you want to start the segment, and then drag across the drawing page.
To end the line, double-click.

Bézier and Pen tools

The Bézier/Pen tools is used to draw one segment at a time by placing each node with precision and controlling shape of each segments you are drawing.

To start drawing, click in the drawing window.

To draw a straight line, point to where you want to end the line, and then click.
To draw a curve, drag to define it, holding down Ctrl if you want to constrain the curve to 15-degree increments.
To stop drawing, press the Spacebar.

To set options, double-click the Bézier tool.

3 point curve tool

The 3 point curve tool is use to draw simple curved lines by specifying their width and height. You can use this tool to create an arc shapes quickly without manipulating nodes.

To define the start and end points of the curve, click where you want to start the curve, and then drag to where you want the curve to end.
To define the center point of the curve, release the mouse button, and then click where you want the center of the curve to be.

Smart drawing tool

The Smart drawing tool lets you use shape recognition to draw straight and curved lines.

To draw a shape or a line by using shape recognition, draw a shape or a line in the drawing window.

The freehand stroke that you draw is converted to a basic shape or smoothed curve.
To erase as you draw, hold down Shift and drag backward.

To specify shape recognition settings, use the property bar.
